PT-LABCAR for Powertrain ECU Software

| Published July 4, 2007

ETAS Inc. (Ann Arbor, MI), a division of the ETAS Group (en.etasgroup.com), has released PT-LABCAR, a scalable virtual simulator for testing automotive powertrain engine control unit (ECU) software.

The three components in PT-LABCAR include a standard PC running a Linux real-time operating system; a programmable power supply with boards for generating signals and measurement, including engine electronic control unit I/O; and a LABCAR System Software Pack. In addition, optional extensions are available for fault simulation, integration with INCA measurement and calibration tools, and a breakout box for manual access to all ECU pins. An optional transmission ECU I/O set is also available.

PT-LABCAR is configured to provide external signals to connect with gasoline engine ECUs up to eight cylinders, diesel engine ECUs up to 12 cylinders, and with all transmission ECUs. Because PT-LABCAR uses a standard PC, standard hardware I/O, and modular software, a PT-LABCAR system is positioned as a cost-effective choice.
