AMETEK Introduces the Latest Innovation in Advanced Force Testing

The Chatillon TCD225 Series Digital Force Tester offers measuring accuracies better than 0.1 percent full scale.

AMETEK Measurement & Calibration Technologies (Largo, FL) has introduced the CHATILLON TCD225 Series, a force-testing system that incorporates the latest design and control innovations. The TCD Series can be set up in seconds to perform virtually any type of test.

The TCD225 force tester, which eliminates the need for a personal computer without compromising operational performance or capability, consists of a powerful, yet easy-to-use console; a rugged frame with a high-performance; closed-loop motion control system; and an intelligent load-sensing system with measuring accuracies better than 0.1 percent full scale.

The lightweight, portable tester can be positioned to fit in tight workspaces. Its throat depth is suited for testing large diameter samples without requiring more expensive and higher maintenance two-column platforms. The console offers a large 5x8 inch color graphic screen that presents information in a clear, easy-to-read format. Multiple language options lets operators perform tests and setups in the language they are most comfortable with.

The frame operates from 0.001 to 50.0-inches per minute (0.01 to 1270 mm/minute) and uses an advanced closed-loop PID controller for precision travel (accuracy better than 0.25 percent unloaded). An innovative thumbwheel drive allows users to precisely control crosshead position and speed when in manual mode, making fixture preparation and alignment safe and efficient. Each frame is supplied with a Certificate of Calibration.

The TCD225 Series collects data at a true 1000 samples per second. The sample rate can be configured from 1-1000Hz. Data can be used to plot graphical results or downloaded automatically to a USB flash drive. The TCD Series also incorporates AMETEK's exclusive Chatillon TLC Series sensor technology.
