Sonnet Reduces Prices on Fusion SATA Storage Systems

10 to 25 percent price reductions provide access to speed, capacity, and performance.

| Published July 2, 2008

Sonnet Technologies (Irvine, CA) announced price reductions ranging from 10 to 25 percent for the company's Fusion line of high-performance SATA storage solutions for professional content creation and editing.

With the greatest reductions applied to Sonnet's higher-capacity models, price cuts of up to $1,500 give storage system buyers the opportunity to get the maximum storage capacity for their money without compromising quality or performance.

Fusion D800RAID — Available in 8TB, 6TB, and 4TB configurations, the Fusion D800RAID desktop and R800RAID rackmount 8-drive storage systems are designed for work environments in which performance and fault tolerance are critical. With Sonnet's Intel processor-based PCIe RAID controller card, Fusion 800RAID storage systems can capture and play uncompressed 10-bit 1080 4:4:4 HD video without dropping frames while simultaneously protecting the data, yet are flexible enough to be configured for any workflow, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and 50.

Fusion D500P — Available in 5TB, 3.7TB, 2.5TB and 0TB configurations, the Fusion D500P 5-drive desktop storage systems deliver speed, reliability, and flexibility for a variety of workflows. Connected via a single locking eSATA cable to a 4-port Sonnet Tempo SATA host controller installed in a Mac or Windows computer, a Fusion D500P's drives can be accessed through its port multiplier at full speed, whether configured as RAID 0, 1, 10, or JBOD.

Fusion D400Q — Available in 4TB, 3TB, 2TB, and 0TB configurations, the Fusion D400Q desktop and Fusion R400Q rackmount 4-drive SATA storage systems with quad interface can play 10-bit 720 HD video without dropping frames, yet are equally adept hosting daily backups. Featuring eSATA (for maximum performance) and FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0 interfaces and a high-performance SATA II port multiplier, Fusion 400Q systems deliver single-cable-to-host connectivity and broad compatibility.

More information about the price reductions in the aforementioned Fusion storage systems is available from Sonnet Technologies, Inc.
