CogniTens (Wixom, MI), a Hexagon Metrology company, and InnovMetric Software (Quebec, Canada) announced a joint software distribution agreement in the areas of polygon meshing and reverse engineering. The terms of this cooperation state that CogniTens will offer its global customers InnovMetric's PolyWorks/Modeler software embedded with CogniTens' leading Optigo and OptiCell 3D optical measurement systems. Each customer base will benefit from the agreement in that PolyWorks will offer the increased accuracy and rendering of their polygon meshes while preserving all the details and features captured by the CogniTens 3D measurement systems, plus providing a more integrated approach.

"PolyWorks is recognized today as having the world's best mesher for high-density point clouds," said Marc Soucy, President of InnovMetric Software Inc. "Using PolyWorks/Modeler will enable the new Optigo 200 RE system users to benefit from increased accuracy and rendering of their metrology driven polygon meshes while preserving all the details and features captured by the CogniTens 3D measurement systems. In addition, our common users will benefit from a better integrated workflow."
